The Sceintists from Benin and Senegal who had participated in the gender mainstreaming and research ethics internship at the University of Zaragoza and Aragon research ethics committee have successfully led a refreshment version of the Research ethics and gender mainstreaming training programme!

The training took place between the 24th and the 18th of October 2022, for a total of 14.5 hours. The training covered the fundamentals of research ethics, ethics committee management and governance, gender mainstreaming in ethics committee governance, and sex and gender considerations in research protocol evaluation.

The programme was conducted virtually and was attended by 30 participants from 8 different countries (Senegal, Benin, Mali, Guinea-Conakry, Guinea-Bissau, Angola, Mozambique, and Central African Republic). Aside from regional diversity, there was also an equitable gender representation with 53% and 47% male and female participants, respectively.

The training materials will be made publicly available very soon, so stay tuned!
