We are pleased to announce the 4th Scientific Congress of BCA-WA-ETHICS: "Governance of research ethics during health emergencies", which will be held on April 25-28, 2023, in Cotonou, Benin and virtually.
The objective of this event is to share lessons learned from governance issues during the COVID-19 pandemic and other past health emergencies, with national research ethics committees (NRECs) in the sub-region of West Africa.
Travel grants are available for up to 10 international participants from West Africa NRECs, WANEC, WHO, WAHO and Africa Bioethics Network to attend the congress as speakers. Travel grants include return air tickets and hotel reservations. Other expenses such as local transport and meals are the responsibility of the participants.
International participants without a travel grant may present their work virtually and watch the live streaming of the congress.
BCA-WA-ETHICS II Advisory Board members are eligible to apply for the Travel grants. Members of the project consortium are welcome to attend the event provided that their institution has the necessary funds to finance their travel.
