On november 30th, BCA-WA-ETHICS II launched its webinar series titled "Biostatistics for ethicists"with the objective of strengthening the capacities of ethicists and research evaluators in biostatistics and research methodology. The series kicked-off with its 1st webinar of the series which was facilitated by Dr Aurel Constant Allabi, Clinical Pharmacology Professor from the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin. The webinar covered the definition of biostatistics, its practical applications in the field of research, and the fundamental of scientific methodology and research design.
On February 11th, the series resumed with its 2nd webinar, shedding light on the different types of study design, types of data and variables, as well as on the fundamentals of descriptive statistics.
The 2nd webinar was attended by 37 participants from 7 African Countries (Benin, Burundi, Kenya, Guinea-Conakry, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, and Mali).
